Sandy Sweitzer has been Triangle Land Conservancy's executive director since April 2015, although she joined TLC in July of 2013 as director of development. She brings over 30 years of nonprofit experience, in North Carolina and California. Drawing on a deep well of experience founding and managing two nonprofit startups, including a mediation, conflict resolution and diversity training program, she is committed to identifying, cultivating and soliciting partnerships from a wide range of community members and organizations. In addition, Sandy worked in conservation as associate director of philanthropy for The Nature Conservancy, NC Chapter and also led the effort to establish the Durham Library Foundation, raising over $2.5 million in private funds for the public library system. As executive director of TLC, she helps to develop policies and partnership to make the region a healthier and more vibrant place to live, work and play for everyone.
