Pegeen Hanrahan is a registered professional engineer and Southeast conservation finance director for the Trust for Public Land. A native and lifelong resident, she served Gainesville, Florida as its Mayor from 2004-2010, and as a City Commissioner from 1996-2002, term limited twice. Pegeen has nearly 30 years of experience in environmental remediation, public participation, private sector engineering, land conservation and local government finance. Pegeen has served as president of the Florida League of Mayors, Chair of the Alachua County Library District and Alachua County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), and serves on the boards of the University of Florida’s Bob Graham Center for Public Service, Florida State University’s LeRoy Collins Institute, the Mayors’ Innovation Project, the Wagmore Foundation, Florida Conservation Voters, and Alachua Conservation Trust.
