Kim Elsenbroek received a master's degree in evolution ecology and behavioral biology from Indiana University and a bachelor's degree in plant biology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Her career goals are to conserve and restore plant life while educating the general public about the importance of conservation through informal/non-traditional education techniques. In 2018, she began working for the Land Conservancy of McHenry County; there she created the Conservation Leader Internship Program which launched during the summer of 2021.
