Kelly is the Land Trust Alliance Southeast program manager, engaging with land trusts to help them increase organizational capacity and build strong, effective leaders in conservation through mentoring, training, and peer learning. Prior to joining the Alliance in 2018, Kelly was the first executive director of the Westerly Land Trust (WLT) in Rhode Island which has a unique dual mission to conserve land primarily through fee-ownership and preserve culturally historic spaces in downtown Westerly. During 12 years with WLT she collaborated with the board to establish a major giving society and corporate sponsorships, initiate environmental education programs for schools and the general public on WLT's 1,700 acres, and expand the staff to four while leading the organization through its first time Accreditation. Recently relocated to northern Virginia from Rhode Island, Kelly enjoys visits to local trails and waterways as often as possible with her family.
