Kaola Swanson is the Columbia Gorge program manager for The Conservation Fund. Kaola holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from University of Oregon and a master's degree in Environmental Management from Duke University. Her love of western forests is rooted in her experience as a wilderness educator at Opal Creek Ancient Forest Center. Her most recent work as forest program director for Sustainable Northwest Programs Director was focused on leading the Northwest Community Forest Coalition and supporting coastal communities in protecting their drinking water supplies through forest management. She is deeply committed to the concept of the radical middle and finding practical solutions that meet the needs of the environment, economy and society.
