Chris Snow is the director of Wake County’s Division of Parks, Recreation and Open Space. The Division is comprised of eight units that serve over one million residents, In addition to its parks, the Division’s open space program seeks to protect water quality by acquiring land or easements in critical stream corridors or watersheds. As Director, Chris is responsible for all aspects of park operation and management as well as open space acquisition. In 1989, Chris received his bachelor's degree in recreation resources administration from North Carolina State University. He began his professional career as a Park Ranger with the North Carolina Division of Parks & Recreation at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park. Chris earned his Masters Degree in Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management from North Carolina State University. He was appointed Division Director in 2006. Chris is a Certified Environmental Educator (1999), and a graduate of the Natural Resources Leadership Institute (2002).
