Carissa Shoemaker is the Director of Land Stewardship for Whiterock Conservancy, overseeing the nonprofit’s new easement program, conservation and restoration efforts, sustainable agriculture program, and trail system. Carissa holds a bachelor’s in Anthropology from Grinnell College and a master’s in Landscape Architecture from Iowa State University, as well as a certificate in Ecological Design from the Ecosa Institute. She joined Whiterock in 2021 and resides in the neighboring Coon Rapids, Iowa.
