We all know that the land we protect forever won’t look the same forever. From habitat succession and meandering streams to extreme weather events/wildfires and sea level rise, the conditions we captured in our baseline report are not likely to be the same conditions even a few years later. We have been using wildfire, stream flow and sea level rise modeling to attempt to predict how properties may change so that we can design our conservation easement program and individual easements to acknowledge and be resilient to future changes.
