Code of Conduct

The Land Trust Alliance’s mission is to save the places people need and love by strengthening land conservation across America. One way we accomplish our mission is by providing quality training and support to those committed to permanently conserving land and natural resources for now and for future generations. We seek to engage people of diverse interests and perspectives to inform our shared interest in protecting special places.

We value the participation of each member of the community and endeavor to deliver an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Conference participants are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, courtesy and respect for others and maintain the highest level of professionalism at all conference programs and events, whether officially sponsored by the Alliance or not. All attendees, speakers, organizers, volunteers, partners, vendors and staff at any Alliance event are required to observe this Code of Conduct.

The Alliance is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience. Harassment, insult or defamation in any form will not be tolerated at Alliance events.

Participants violating the Code of Conduct will have their access to the conference revoked at the sole discretion of the Alliance. Thank you for helping to make this a welcoming and safe event for all.

About the Land Trust Alliance

The Land Trust Alliance is a national conservation organization whose mission is to save the places people love by strengthening land conservation across America. The Alliance represents 1,000 member land trusts supported by more than 200,000 volunteers and 4.6 million members nationwide, who together have conserved more than 50 million acres. The Alliance works in three ways: First, we increase the pace of conservation, so more land and natural resources get protected. Second, we enhance the quality of conservation, so the most important lands get protected using the best practices in the business. And third, we ensure the permanence of conservation by creating the laws and resources needed to defend protected land over time. The Alliance is based in Washington, D.C., and has several regional offices. Visit www.landtrustalliance.org for more information.
